SEPTEMBER 2025 WAS A FREAKIN’ DOOZY!!! The Eclipse energy was energying, lel.

DRUMROLL, PLEASE.

If you saw this blog post (specifically towards the end), you probably got the hint that September was going to be a big month for me.

It was.

It would be nice not to dread walking in my neighbourhood of nearly a decade (I lived in the same apartment + building since October 2016) because of stumbling upon ‘things‘, in my usual walk home / to the closest mall that could potentially hurt me.

I must say, it’s a horrible thing to be proven right by people you’d expect to have some sense of grace (and a wee bit of dignity, too) after you tell them how their actions hurt you, and then they show you that you probably never mattered to them because they constantly do the that very same thing — over and over.

Dealing with someone who only honours their apologies with an expiry date, and then goes back to doing the same wicked things — that is a person with no principles, no leg to stand on. That is no man. That is a coward.

But alas, I will no longer be pulled into things that aren’t my business just because people are inconsiderate twats. No more reminders of how I mean , erm — meant nothing — like, I get it, but the incessant need to rub it in my face because of explicit carelessness is beyond extremely foul.

You can shove your IDGAF if you find out what I’m up to demeanour up where the sun don’t shine.

If you think it’s silly to make that one of the top 3 reasons to move out of my apartment, you should be glad you don’t understand what it’s like to be in my shoes. I’m a strong person — but I’m not made of stone. As much as it sucks to still feel hurt and affected by this, well … that’s probably something I wouldn’t know how to move past from — but I should deal with things within my control, and well … this is one way to do it.

It’s high time to quote this BIG Carrie moment (see what I did there) :

Welp … anyway, now that that’s been laid out (phew), here’s the sweet part (got the bitter part out, heh) — I documented a bit of the move-out process, because things like this is always a bittersweet feeling, it is.

I’m a very sentimental person and I find it hard to let go of things, so I was dreading to get to the clearing out bit, because I know I’d be struggling to dispose shit.

But I let my inner Marie (Kondo, not Antoinette) take over (but I also had lots of cake in the process, so there’s that). I actually had so much fun and made sure I had the perfect balance of making time to reflect, and also remember that I didn’t have time to waste.

Taking you on my packing journey as one does … forking 9 years of stuff (and dust).

this was tame, honestly
spot the photo I edited on PhotoShop of me and RPattz in 2007 because I was in my demented Twilight phase … that I don’t think would ever leave, Twilight Forever, etc. etc.
needed to get my curtains sent to the laundry — how are we doing with my makeshift curtains?
disposed about 20 of these — I know. 9 years of hogging stuff does that.

Awesome things I come across packing — most of which are circulated via iMessage because ~MUY ESCANDALOSO~

my first love + boyfriend in high school gifted me this and I love that I kept it all these years. can you tell that I’ve loved celestial bodies since my teens? the moon also meant a lot to him and I, hence this
not even gonna elaborate lol
i’m such an Aquarius Moon and Rising …
me (tanned at 8) and my cousin (Sio)Mao — can you tell I lived in Palawan and was a child of the beach?
favourite films and favourite posters — I have Empire Records stuck on the wall of every bedroom I’ve ever lived in
print-outs of them Seventeen modeling days, as one does
… I don’t know either, don’t ask me (yes I kept my hair from when I had the urge to get bobs over a decade ago)
this one’s something — this is the phone I owned in high school. tender memories of me spending hours on the phone with my first boyfriend … with Maya, with Ayah, with Carlo, Ann, Ban … it’s crazy. a part of my history, probably one of the bestestestest, most magical time of my life
for some reason I ‘forgot’ to consume this?
love the random Riyal bills I’ve come across during the sorting phase
love that I kept all these cinema tickets!
like, why did I keep these? why not just chuck them immediately? I dunno
kept this as a reference because this IS THE BEST MASCARA FOR AZN LASHES

Massive, massive shout-out to EMovers, the only moving company I’ve trusted since 2019 — great for office moves, and as proven, great for apartment moves, too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. If you live in the UAE, they are extremely professional and efficient! Their service, from quotation requests to coordination, to actual move-out/in : IMPECCABLE [insert Chef’s kiss emoji here].

Other September tings (with photos) :

Food was such a source of comfort and happiness, as you can see.

my Meena treated me to one of (if not the) best Matcha I’ve had in Dubai!!!
attended the building’s networking event, been awhiiiiiiile
my regular Nightjar order
my regular Nightjar order
Pinkberry, always there for me
tried The Mad Greeks for the first time and it did not disappoint
Do you see why Angela has been my girl for always? Some magicccccc she does for my lashes
my girl Angela and precious Rolo! an actual Teddy Bear!
❤ ❤ ❤
Carlo treated us to Parker’s for his Birfdaaaaaaaaay, and naturally …
Denny’s, Denny’s, Denny’s ❤

Other September tings (without photos) :

  • There were a bunch of other challenging things this month brought us (as a unit), but if anything, it just cemented how strong of a foundation I built with my people, and for that I am eternally grateful.
  • ISN’T NESTING SO THERAPEUTIC? One of the things I highly enjoyed this month was getting stuff for the new pad! I can’t wait to show you! Gonna take a while before I could finalise the living room area (focused on the bedroom, as one does — my sanctuary, heh).

You think I’d let this blog post go without mentioning TSITP? The forking finale aired on the 17th of September and it was EVERYTHING. I watched it over and over and wept.

Sharing my favourite tweets like they’re receipts, lol

My song(s) of the month, undoubtedly (these have been on rotation) :

My top 4 favourite (first-watch) films of September :

PTA does it again — but I’ve never doubted him. My first PTA film was Boogie Nights back in 2002, when I was 15. Yeah. I love that for me.

Speaking of which — if you fancy giving me a follow on Letterboxd : Abbie’s Letterboxd account.

A few things I reflected on this month :

Not sure I had time to reflect — it was an intense month, I couldn’t allow myself to pause, because it was a major life change. I was being taken out of my comfort zone, I’m uprooting 9 years of routine, of knowing every corner of my apartment, of being so used to a certain way of living on this side of the City, of having the freedom to walk 15mins to my favourite IMAX theatre, and not caring whether the film ends past midnight.

But alas.

Bonus Photo : the first picture I took in the apartment I left this month — ah, the first ever space I rented by myself, in the first city I moved to by myself. Pretty iconic.

I loved Al Barsha 1. This unit was the first and only unit I viewed, and I took it, with the help of my former in-laws. Prior to that, my first month was spent in Discovery Gardens, my former employer helped me stay in their Hospitality Department’s accommodation, whilst I sorted myself out.

I’ll always love this unit. 9 years here, sometimes I can’t believe the things this place has seen me go through (just don’t get me started on the building management, particularly the Maintenance Team …)

It’s one of the things I constantly thank God and the Universe for.

2016!!!

Anyway.

  1. Ive been meaning to check out the Summer I Turned Pretty but I’ve currently got a watch list longer than my gaming list.

Incidentally, my sister lives in Palawan now. Not sure if she’s been as long as you were in your current apartment but its plenty close to a decade too. She and her fam are at Puerto but she’s got in laws in El Nido.
