March, March, March. My intro game be weak, so I’ll get right to it.
OMG, I vlogged. This is an extremely chatty vlog (which I had to cut down from it’s original 60min runtime, insane!), may I add. I was in the mood to babble babble babble, yada-yada-yada. And you know what? It was forking therapeutic. Realised how much I missed vlogging like this — note that I cut this down to half an hour, so much babbling edited out!
So I took videos over the course of one weekend — thankfully, it was quite eventful. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, so it’s always very organic in the sense that this is what my weekends normally look like, and that’s how I’ve always been with my vlogs anyway.
In parallel with vlogging, I took photos during that weekend as well, of course.
We also had our Company Suhoor — and I realised how much I prefer it over Iftar. We were in chill city, smoking our Shishas.
I also spent most of the time geeking with one of our Japanese colleagues about everything Ghibli and Gojira, as one does. He says it shocks him that I know a lot of Ghibli films, I surprised him even more by saying that I actually saw ‘The Boy in the Heron’ back in the UK with my Cousins who were also huge Ghibli fans. He called us “special”. Bless.
Honestly also loved the food that evening, so much so that I scraped Mich’s beef from her plate, lol.
Really stoked that Haim finally released their latest single, after aaaaages! And holy forker, Drew Starkey??? Before they released it, I was listening to the 15second snippet on repeat. So good.

- Achieved something “notable”, mental-health wise.
- Fukken Severance. Fukken, Fukken, Fukken Severance.

- … okay, make it three : JUSTICE.
- Also — I don’t know about you, but I really like White Lotus’s Third Season. Such a bummer they changed the forking opening theme. It really doesn’t make sense to me!!!
- How do you feel about Daredevil : Born Again, by the way? I’m biased — I love this franchise. I love what Netflix has done with it, and I appreciate what Disney’s done with it, too. The first episode (trauma-wise), not so much — but we’ll see where things go.
- Speaking of series, I did something extremely mental one weekend this month where I binged ‘Adolescence‘, ‘Paradise‘, and ‘Black Bird‘ in one go. Ending my binge with Black Bird was not wise, because anything true crime gives me nightmares, but whoa. I also binged ‘The Pitt‘, which is awesome.
My top 4 favourite (first-watch) films of March :
I have a lot to say about these films, all legit 5/5 ⭐️ — I did my nighttime routine in silence and in utter shock after “I’m still here”. On one hand you’re reminded of how banally evil we could be, and on the other, the strength it takes to breathe life into your family, and to hold them together — it’s … beyond. There are no words to describe my feelings post-viewing. I’d definitely say the same for “Nickel Boys” and “Sing Sing”.

Sitting with silence taught me so much this month. It’s waiting until the ripples are gone, and you’re staring at your own reflection on the now calm stream of water.
Also — a bit of a teaser since this is part of March (the 30th to be exact, stopped over at Thailand for our Eid Holiday downtime) — here’s something we stuffed our faces with.
Kind of unfortunate that I was peak sick at the time and barely tasted my food — but you know what that means (it means we need to go back).
